Artist – Paul Nombel

Paul Nombel

It all started with the work of the American artist Andrew Wyeth. The imagery he created is filled with such an emotional depth that one wonders how this could be achieved.

I felt the urge at attempting a copy of one of his drawings entitled Beckie King. The copy turned into a study as I investigated his pencil work trying to rationalize the artistic choices he made to create this master work. It then became clear to me that drawing is not a mindless activity, there is a lot to it. I joined the Academy of Realist Art in Boston to learn the craft and a few years later started Metro Drawing Studio with one simple notion:

Technical ability far from inhibiting any artistic vision makes it possible.
